Pierrehaps: Early Bird Preorders of 'True' and theatre galore
Sneak previews, presaves and tickets for your eyes
Happy July everybody!
It’s a chaotic time of year. I feel like July is always the culmination for a lot of projects, plans and performances for many people so it feels like we all run around like headless chickens for a couple of weeks. Amidst this, I think it’s really important to ring-fence some time for yourself to relax and grab some downtime. I myself am writing this on the way back from a small weekend camping with some friends to get away from it all.
Whatever you need to do: treat yourself to a nice coffee and afternoon reading a book, go for a hike in some nature or just spend a day chilling with some cartoons - here’s your summer reminder to prioritise some time for you.
Onto some news!

True Release (Preorder?!)
Some very exciting developments are underway and I have now announced my debut EP True to be released on the 11th of August. I’m releasing it myself and attempting all the PR and promotion under my single roof - which I can confirm is an absolutely mammoth job, but then again it’s also something which I can unleash my spreadsheet skills on.
So a bit about the EP: it’s a collection of tunes that for me express a sense of vulnerability and intimacy. I think within that I try to make a space for listeners to reflect on what those ideas mean to them and then engage and work through that. I’m really proud of the sound of this record, it really travels from head to toe in different feels, styles and genres across 4 songs.
There’s actually a radio edit that currently I’m just sharing with radio stations and also a B side for one of the longer improvised tunes that had some gorgeous solos that I couldn’t let go of. These won’t feature on the album, but I will release them separately. In the meantime, here’s the radio edit for you to listen to:
If you would actually be interested in owning a PHYSICAL copy of the album (or at least just supporting me), then you can actually PREORDER it right here, something which I haven’t shared on socials yet and you have a special private pre-release direct link to:
If you’d like to support me in an additional (or alternately free) way, you can presave my album to your streaming service library through this link here:
This is a massively helpful thing to do. It showcases to the streaming services that I have an audience and that people are invested in the music, and as a result gives them incentive to further share my music around. So please save it if you can, and further share it around!

Pillock
The gorgeous 1-man show that I mentioned in my previous update is coming to performances ! I wrote all the music and designed the sound for this show, and we’ve had a blast putting it all together. We had our first preview last night at a beautiful (relatively new) theatre in Prescot called Shakespeare North and it went down a storm. A reminder on the content of the show: it’s a coming of age queer “neuro-spicy” tale about finding Mr. Right through the lens of ADHD. It’s an absolute whirlwind and hilarious so if you’re about in Manchester this week, tickets can be found here for Contact Theatre:
Alternatively if you’re coming to the Edinburgh Fringe, it’s on all month at Assembly Rooms:

Joy Unspeakable
Onto the next: the show that I’ve been slowly putting together over the last few years with Ordinary Glory as their musical director/composer/sound designer is coming together. We got our funding (yes!!), we’ve just about finished our casting and rehearsals start in August. This show is a verbatim 4-person piece of gig-theatre exploring four accounts of disordered eating and weaving nuance and narrative through the retelling of those stories alongside punk, folk and forest techno. I have written most of the music at this point and my work is going into making all the resources for our actor-musos to learn these tunes. It’s gonna be wicked. As we get our venues, tickets and links confirmed in, I will be sharing all with you in due course.

Proper 2024 playlist
I’ve been a bit shifty and forgot to put a playlist together for the last few months of the substacks. It’s also been a very fruitful couple of months for discovering new music, so what follows is a MAMMOTH saucy playlist of juice to sink into

London Calling
Some quite big news to pepper the end of the mailing list. I’m moving to London in September! Both my partner (the wonderful Caitlin LM) and mines work is slowly taking us down there and we thought when best to try it other than now. We’ve got a place to move to in Hither Green, which is super exciting! My plan is very much to still keep coming back up for work in the North, but also to start exploring what a London network looks like.
A message to you, the reader: I have not yet built up much of a London network, so if you know of any beautiful humans that are collaborators, musicians, theatre makers, or just downright lovely people that would be great to get in contact with, then please oh please share their names with me x

A song features from this album on the music playlist, but it’s such a stunning album of songwriting outside of that, that it deserves a huge mention and all of your devoted time to listen to it. Gabriel Kahane spent weeks on trains chatting to strangers and gathering their stories, to work them into songs. What resulted was an outstanding and beautiful journey into love, loss and humanity. Enjoy x
I recently came across a YouTube channel called Jetlag: The Game. Combining some of my favourite things of board games and geography I was immediately hooked. The idea is that this group of 3 friends play these intense (with very very well worked out mechanics) games where they capture flags/play tag/hide and seek/race one another, but using countries/continents/the world as their board to play on. It’s fascinating, silly and very fun. Go enjoy x
OK speak soon, that’s all for these months x
